Hello, The Witcher fans, the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Netflix has given us the release dates for Season 3 of the show, and we can all let out a collective sigh of relief. The Witcher has become a global sensation since its debut in 2019, and fans are eagerly awaiting the third season. Netflix recently released a poster for the upcoming season featuring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, with the tagline “Family’s Worth fighting for”. The Poster also reveals that the season will be split into two parts, with the first batch airing on June 29th and the second on July 27th, with featchering Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra.
According to the official description, The Witcher’s third season will carry the epic saga further. While kings, magicians, and monsters of the Continent attempt to capture Ciri of Cintra, Geralt hides her. He is desperate to protect his newly reunited family from any potential threats. Yennefer is entrusted with Ciri’s magical training and leads them to the secure fortress of Aretuza. But they quickly come face to face with a battlefield of deceit, dark magic, and political corruption. If they don’t take a stand and put everything on the line, they may never find one other again.
With Henry Cavill resuming his role as Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Freya Allan as Ciri, Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon, the crown princess of Cintra, the third season of The Witcher has an all-star ensemble. The show will also introduce some queer characters at last, with one of the most prominent LGBTQ+ characters from the franchise, Philippa Eilhart, played by Cassie Clare, making a bigger appearance in The witcher season 3.
In the teaser, we can see Geralt drink a potion that causes his eyes to transform into a dark and demonic state. He then utters the words, “Now, for the first time, I understand real fear,” which sends me shivers down the spine.
In addition, the teaser also showcases other significant characters from The Witcher series, including Ciri, who is also known as the princess of Cintra and played by Freya Allen, and Yennefer of Vengerberg, portrayed by Anya Chalotra, among others.
The Witcher season 3’s official trailer has drawn criticism from fans as a result of the news that Liam Hemsworth will take the place of Henry Cavill as the series’ star. Many viewers have stated that they will not watch the show without Cavill and that they are dissatisfied in Netflix’s choice. The comments on Twitter and YouTube indicate a lack of excitement for the forthcoming season and imply that the show will end after current one. Netflix may be aware that interest may wane midway through season 3 based on the fact that it has been split into two volumes.
